How to remember?

The part originally means a cliff. And the remaining means a rock. But since the modern meaning of this Kanji is usually stone (smaller size) instead of rock (bigger size), it is kind of unrealistic if we remember this Kanji this way. How can we see a cliff and a small stone under it at the same time?

So I come up with the 'measure a stone' mnemonics. Please imagine that the part is two rulers for measuring the stone below them.

This Kanji itself is a radical.

Do not confuse this Kanji with:

-which means 'right' (direction)
